Kiawah Island is a a family
beach and golf
resort located on a barrier island 15 miles from Charleston, South Carolina. The island is sure to please golfers and offers something for everyone in the family. For outdoor lovers, tennis courts are available, along with 10 miles of sandy beach. Dining options range from casual cafes to fancy restaurants. Tour the island's bike trails or view native wildlife at an area park. Kiawah Island is a place to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy everything that ocean-side living offers.
The Ocean Course
Play a round or two of golf at the Ocean Course, which was a filming location for the movie "The Legend of Bagger Vance." The course, which was designed for the 1991 Ryder Cup matches, features 10 holes on the Atlantic. The famous course also hosted the 1997 World Cup.

The Aiken-Rhett House
Explore the Aiken-Rhett House in nearby Charleston. The house, which was built in 1818, depicts life in urban antebellum Charleston and features impeccably preserved slave quarters.

Children's Museum of the Lowcountry
Take your children to the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry, which features the "Creativity Castle," the "Lowcountry Shrimping" exhibit and a children's garden. The exhibits are hands-on and teach children about South Carolina life. Interactive classes are offered on the weekends.
