About Disneyland Resort
Disneyland in
Anaheim has become an American institution. Walt Disney first opened it at the behest of his fans--a way for them to celebrate the Disney spirit beyond the cartoons and movies his (much more mundane) Burbank studios put out. The park itself has expanded over the years, and now "Disneyland
resort" includes a number of amenities besides the Happiest Place on Earth.
Opening
Disneyland first open its doors in 1955. More than 500 million people visited the park in its first 50 years.
California Adventure
Disneyland resort opened a second park, Disney's California Adventure, next to the first park in 2001.
Hotels
Disneyland resort has three official hotels on-site: Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Grand Californian and Disney's Paradise Pier. Many hotels not affiliated with Disneyland are within walking distance.
Restaurants
Disneyland's sit-down restaurants are clustered in New Orleans Square. Walk-up kiosks are spread throughout the park, and Downtown Disney--the resort's shopping area--has many sit-down restaurants accessible via the park's monorail.
Address
Disneyland's address is 1313 South Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, Calif. 92802. Its phone number is 714-635-2300.
