Destination Weddings in Kauai
If a low-key, laid-back environment appeals to you more than the night life and big city feel of Oahu, then Kauai may be the island for your destination wedding. Although Kauai has fewer accommodations than its neighbor islands, it does offer reasonable rates and beautiful, remote stretches of shore for couples who want time alone.
The Coconut Coast
The Coconut Coast on Kauai's east shore is about 15 minutes away from Kauai's largest town, Lihue. If you do want to explore Kauai's night life, this should be your jumping off point. The Coconut Coast is filled with little rental properties and vacation homes as well as beaches that make a lovely backdrop to any wedding. A wedding coordinator may be your best option for finding a location. Coconut Coast Weddings and Photography offers planning services to smaller weddings and elopements in addition to photography services. You can see samples of their work at their website.

The North Shore
If it's the privacy of a romantic getaway you're after, the remote North Shore offers stunning vistas as far as the eye can see, as well as beaches and two picturesque towns: Hanalei and Kilauea. Just beware: in the winter months, rain is a constant companion to the North Shore. A great place for weddings on the North Shore is the Hawaiian Romantic Cottage. This luxury home is situated on nine acres that overlook Kahili Bay. The size of the grounds make it perfect for an intimate elopement, or a large destination wedding with hundreds of guests.

Poipu Beach
If you want it all on your destination wedding, then you'll find it at Poipu beach on the South Shore. The weather is nice year round, and you can count on a wealth of activities as well as easy access to the airport, resorts and restaurants. One of the local resorts at Poipu Beach, the Grand Hyatt Kauai, offers vacation packages that include facilities and services for services on their ground wedding, as well as a staff member who can recommend local vendors. If it's a beachfront wedding you want, the Grand Hyatt can recommend a wedding coordinator as well.
