Hotels Near Washington, D.C., Cathedral Annual Flower March
In 1912, the new Washington National Cathedral was still under construction, but its Bethlehem Chapel opened to the public. Since that time the cathedral has served as a national place of prayer, worship and contemplation. Welcoming people of all faiths, it has served in times of mourning and in times of joy. The annual Flower Mart festival on the beautiful grounds of the cathedral is one of those happy occasions. Professional and amateurs gardeners --- as well as flower lovers --- look forward to this special event. Booths offer gardening tools, plants, flowers, seeds, books, idea exchange and refreshments. Children can enjoy a variety of rides and entertainment. The Washington National Cathedral Flower Mart is a celebration of spring that entices visitors from all over the country.
