For those living close to Norfolk, Virginia, embarking on a cruise from the port in Norfolk is much more convenient as you don't have to travel far to catch the ship. You can sail from Norfolk to the beautiful island of Bermuda, nearly 500 miles off the coast of North Carolina. Currently, Royal
Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas is the only cruise ship sailing from Norfolk to Bermuda, and it departs about five times per year in the late spring and early summer.
Activities Aboard Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas
The five-night voyage offers a rock climbing wall, the Casino Royale, eight bars and lounges, an outdoor and indoor pool, and Adventure Ocean, a facility to keep the kids amused. Hit the track or relax at the spa.
What to Bring
Aboard the Grandeur of the Seas, you'll need nicer attire for the evening for eating in the dining room, and a cocktail dress or tuxedo for the cocktail parties and shows aboard the ship. Bring comfortable footwear and more casual attire for exploring Bermuda and plenty of sunscreen so that you don't get burned. Don't forget your camera. Towels are provided on the ship.
When You Arrive in Bermuda
Bermuda is known for its pink sand beaches. This former British colony is still characteristically very British. Enjoy a round of golf at one of the premier golf courses. Take a bike tour of the Bermuda Railway Trail to Hamilton. Take in the beauty of the whimsically painted houses or head to the main destination for fine dining, King's Wharf.
