Atlantic City is one of the most famous cities in New Jersey as it hosts events, such as the Miss America beauty contest, and was the inspiration for the board game Monopoly. Thousands flock to Atlantic City as it is only the city in America were you can gamble along the beach. Many restaurants dot the streets of Atlantic City, and each has something to offer all guests.
Dock's Oyster House

Dock's Oyster House was first opened by Harry Dougherty in 1897. The restaurant is within walking distance from the boardwalk and Atlantic City Convention Center. Dock's is open seven days a week and the dining room can accommodate up to 100 guests. The restaurant opens at 5 p.m. and only serves dinner. The wine list at Dock's Oyster House is extensive. Steaks, seafood and oysters are the speciality at Dock's, and the raw bar itself is enough to draw in many customers. Oysters from Cape May, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York are featured at the restaurant, can be ordered individually.

Tun Tavern Brewery and Restaurant

The Tun Tavern is the only brewery and restaurant located in Atlantic City. Eight beers are brewed at the Tun Tavern and they include a: golden ale, pale ale, India pale ale, Irish red and a stout. The restaurant is open six days a week, and it features specials every night. The food can be described as American as it is a fusion of all styles of cooking, and the menu features burgers, salads, steaks, seafood and sandwiches. Pasta Primavera and Wasabi Tuna are two of the restaurants most famous dishes.

Knife and Fork

The Knife and Fork was first opened in 1912, and was recently taken over by the family that owns and operates Dock's Oyster House. The Knife and Fork is one of the most upscale restaurants in Atlantic City, and is decorated in beautiful mahogany and has hand painted ceilings. The restaurant is opened seven days a week, and begins to serve dinner at 4 p.m. On Fridays, the Knife and Fork serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The wine list is extensive, as the wine cellar can accommodate up 10,000 bottles. The restaurant is known for its steak, seafood, salads and appetizers.
