Cookeville is located in the North central portion of the state of Tennessee in Putnam County. The city is home to four golf courses and Edgar Evins State Park, which provides 18 holes of golf, hiking, camping and fishing. There are plenty of accommodations for a stay in Cookeville. Visitors will also find a variety of shops and restaurants. Among the dining establishments, there are many Chinese restaurants.

A Taste of China offers food that is made to order. Those in a hurry can take advantage of the all you can eat buffet, which provides a large variety of Chinese menu items. Specialty items include General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken, spring rolls, deep fried wontons, dry garlic spareribs and homemade sweet and sour soup. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Panda Garden Buffet
The Panda Garden Buffet is a Chinese restaurant that is located in the heart of downtown Cookeville. The restaurant offers take-out and dine-in service. The all you can eat buffet features more than 100 varieties of items, including a salad bar and ice cream for dessert. The Panda Garden specializes in Cantonese, Szechwan and Hunan cuisine. The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

King Buffet
The King Buffet is an expanded all you can eat Chinese buffet and grill featuring more than 160 items a day. It is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily for lunch and dinner and it offers a senior citizens discount. rill items are made to order while diners watch and they can add their own choice of sauces. Buffet items include Mongolian beef, egg drop soup, sweet and sour pork, chow mein and sweet and sour chicken.

New China
The New China buffet is one of the newer Chinese restaurants in Cookeville. It is located in the same shopping center as the local Wal-Mart, which makes it convenient to dine while shopping. A full menu is also provided with selections for children. Food is made fresh to order. The New China Buffet is open daily for lunch and dinner. Menu items include chicken fried rice, egg rolls and beef and broccoli.
