The Carlton Hotel
The historic Carlton Hotel in
New York City has been pleasing visitors with its superb location and great service for years. Its 317 newly remodeled guest rooms and suites feature luxurious accommodations such as pillow top mattresses, custom made furniture, a 42-inch LCD TV, iHome docking station, free Wi-Fi, mini bar, marble bathroom and Molton Brown bath products.
Wows and Woes
The Carlton is a dog friendly hotel for all dogs under 25 pounds.
The restaurant on-site, Country by Geoffrey Zakarian, is Michelin starred and was voted "Best New Hotel Restaurant" by "Travel and Leisure Magazine."
Rollaway beds are not allowed in the standard or superior rooms.
Insider Tips
The breakfast at the Carlton is mediocre, at best. For a better way to start your day, head to the nearby Tasty Deli and enjoy the morning in Madison Park.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
My favorite memory was walking up to the Carlton from the cab and being greeted by the friendly, yet extremely proper New York doorman. Walking into the Carlton you feel like you are experiencing the Big Apple to the fullest extent.
Bottom Line
For convenience, quality and luxury the Carlton is the ideal Madison Avenue hotel.
