Facts on California

California is most known for its film industry. Tourists visit California for variety of reasons and purpose. They may choose to hike at one of the national parks, enjoy the sun and sandy beaches, or visit Disneyland. California is great place to visit anytime of the year.
Cities

California is home to many well known cities including San Fransisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. Each city is a tourist destination itself offering abundant attractions from fine dining to world-class zoos to movie stars.

Weather

Depending on the location of choice, temperature varies greatly. Southern California is consistently warmer with average temperatures in January around 50 degrees F and in July around 90 degrees F. Central and coastal California is slightly colder. Northeastern California's average temperatures lie around 25 degree F in January and 70 degrees F in July.

Roads

Roads at or above 8000 feet are closed for the winter until at least June. This may affect access to some attractions.

Least crowded

September through November are the least crowded months for tourists in California.

National Parks

California has quite a few national parks including the well known Redwood National Park and Yosemite National Park. Particularly in Yosemite, bears are a persistent problem. Keep food in food lockers and never approach a bear.
