California Travel Ideas
In California, there are plenty of exciting places to travel for both Californians and out-of-state guests. California is full of beauty and plenty of attractions to see and visit. The terrain varies greatly in this state. There are hot tropical
beaches to explore along with dessert and mountains that create contrast in the landscape. Even though California is a large state---for those visiting the area---travel by car is encouraged. Car travel allows visitors to ride along the coast and other corners of the state to observe the distinct scenery that this state has to offer.
Disneyland
Anaheim, California, is home to the birthplace of the first Walt Disney theme park---Disneyland. At Disneyland, guests can marvel at the land of make-believe where princesses abound and cartoons and whimsy come to life. Disneyland offers theme rides, a world's fair, shopping and plenty of eating destinations. The ever famous Main Street and Cinderella's Castle are fantasy icons that are etched forever in the minds of many. Here, guests of all ages can feel like a kid again where Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters come to life.

Queen Mary
In Long beach California, when travelers are done enjoying the sights of the water and sand, they can travel a short distance to explore the Queen Mary. This famous ship is docked in the Queensway Bay and is holds a museum. While considered a national attraction, the Queen Mary was a popular ocean liner used back in World War II. At a massive 81,000 tons, this ship towers over the harbor. The Queen Mary is more than just a troop ship---deep inside lies pristine luxuries that are still in working order today. A swimming pool, spa and shopping opportunities abound aboard this famous ship. Hollywood
What would a visit to California be without heading to one of the most popular cities in the world---Hollywood. Not only is Hollywood home to some of the most premier fashion hot spots on the planet, it is also known for its historic movie studios and theaters. In Tinsel town, guests can explore by sight-seeing how Hollywood's rich and famous enjoy everyday life. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is located on Hollywood Boulevard. Locating a famous celebrity hand print makes for great photo opportunities for tourists. Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe, California, is one of the premiere getaway destinations for both the nation's elite and those looking for a world class vacation destination (VisitingLakeTahoe.com). Lake Tahoe covers it all from skiing, hiking, boating and sightseeing---this location is perfect for both couples and families. The Sierra Nevada and Carson Mountains surround the area, offering breathtaking beauty for all to take in. One hot spot in Lake Tahoe is Eagle Creek. This breathtaking location offers a waterfall view that tumbles 1,500 feet into a crystal blue lake called Emerald Bay. For those who enjoy the beach in the summer, Lake Tahoe has plenty, due to it being the largest lake in the state of California.
Yosemite National Park

Located in the center of the east side of California, this mammoth park covers over 1,100 miles of unspoiled natural land and water (Yosemite.org). There is camping, hiking, boating and picnicking throughout the park area. Many trails are unmarked, which is perfect for the backcountry hiker or camper. Wildlife abounds throughout the park and includes black bears, coyotes, deer and marmots. Tall and awe-inspiring Redwoods tower over many trails and drives throughout the park, making them a sight to see and remember.
