Norfolk residents and visitors can dine on authentic Brazilian food.
Centrally located on the mid-Atlantic coast, Norfolk, Virginia, considers itself a "charming port city." The city offers a variety of traditional and eclectic dining options, from creative chef-owned eateries to historic Virginia classics. For Norfolk residents and visitors with a craving for Brazilian food, a few local places are available. Although Norfolk has only one Brazilian restaurant, a few other Norfolk restaurants offer similar South American cuisines. Or, for those traveling northwest of the city, a Brazilian restaurant can also be found in Richmond.
Espeto na Brasa
The Espeto na Brasa restaurant follows the tradition of a true Brazilian barbecue restaurant, offering 14 different types and cuts of meats. For a fixed price, guests can choose from an extensive meat selection, which includes chicken wrapped in bacon, flank steak, filet mignon wrapped in bacon, pork loin, garlic steak, leg of lamb and Brazilian sausage, among several others. Guests signal the "meat runners" when they are ready for more; the runners then carve the meat right off the skewer at the guest's table. Guests can also select from a variety of items at the cold and hot bars, which offer salads, pastas, vegetables, fruits, soups, cheeses and traditional Brazilian dishes. Epseto na Brasa offers two convenient locations; one restaurant is located in Norfolk, while the other is less than 20 miles away in Virginia beach.

To begin their meal, diners can select from more than 40 seasonal salad bar items, including soups, salads, bread, cheeses, vegetables, beans, rice and potatoes. Once diners are ready to feast on the restaurant's extensive meat selections, they simply flip their cards to the green side and wait for meat carvers to arrive at their table. Diners can select from a variety of meats, including beef, pork, lamb, Brazilian sausage and chicken. All meats are cooked over an open-flame grill, which follows the traditions of Southern Brazil.
