Boston Omni Parker House Review

The Boston Omni Parker House Hotel is in a historic building, but it was fully renovated to modern tastes in 2008. Amenities include luxury bedding, comfy robes and flat screen TVs. The hotel is great for those studying history as it is right on the Freedom Trail. The Parker Restaurant has plenty of seafood, Boston cream pie (of course) and the original soft flour Parker House rolls.
Wows and Woes

For families without a budget, the Freedom Trail Suite offers a bedroom, living room and alcove with bunk beds, a chalkboard wall and colonial costumes for kids to dress up. There is also a mural of the Freedom Trail and a kid-sized activity table.

The fitness center is open 24 hours; if you are shy about working out, you can have a mat and dumbbells sent to your room for free.

Insider Tips

The Omni has amenity kits for kids. Even better, take them across the street to the Boston Common and let them run around until they are tired out.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

We were woken up in the middle of the night by a fire alarm and had to evacuate; there was no fire, but our kid's felt secure since their "welcome package" had a flashlight.

Bottom Line

You may be surprised by the reasonable rates this luxury hotel offers. Specials with breakfast and tickets to local Boston attractions are also available.
