According to the "Best In Sonoma" website, a panel of local residents decided on their favorite eateries around Sonoma, California, in various categories. Reservations are recommended at these restaurants, and dress is often some level of casual. Guests will have their choice of indoor or outdoor seating at most of these establishments.
Della Santina's
One of the winners in the fine-dining category, this restaurant is family-owned. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu includes homemade pasta, rotisserie meats, fish, chicken, duck and rabbit, all made in traditional Tuscan style. It also offers homemade desserts, such as tiramisu, chocolate mousse tortes, lemon tortes and panna cotta.

Murphy's Irish Pub
For those seeking a more casual atmosphere, the panel recommends this eatery, which features a variety of Irish beers, international beers, hard cider and local wines. The menu offers soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts and full plates, such as fish and chips, bangers and mash and shepherd's pie. In addition to food, the pub hosts live music, literary events and weekly trivia events.

Gramma's Pizza
In the best pizza category, this was one of the restaurants that took the pie. Guests may design their own pizza using any of more than 45 toppings, or choose from one of 20 specialties, such as the Gilroy Cowboy, the Bushwacker or the Blue Moon. The menu also offers pasta, salads, sandwiches and desserts, including 36 flavors of gelato.

Artisan Bakers
In the cafes and bakeries division, the original location of Artisan Bakers was among those that rose to the top in this poll. Offerings include breads of sourdough, Italian and French styles. There are also American creations and challah on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as danish, desserts, pizza, sandwiches, soups, salads and quiche. The bakery also features yogurt, granola, croutons and a variety of spreads.
