Pappas Bros. Steakhouse

Pappas Bros. steakhouse is continuing the tradition of the original Pappas brothers, who opened their restaurant over 60 years ago. This restaurant prides itself on its dedication to a total quality dining experience and offers more than 2,300 wine selections to go with your dinner and more than 60 cigar selections for an after dinner treat.

The menu includes such favorite appetizers as shrimp cocktail, fried oysters, crab cakes and beef carpaccio. Entrees include various cuts of filet mignon, ribeye, and New York strip. It also offers a three peppercorn steak, a veal chop and a porterhouse steak.

Strip House

The Strip House in Houston is one of several locations this restaurant offers throughout the U.S. The restaurant offers guests a "seductive" dining experience with its decor of black and white photographs of women in seductive poses (photographed by Studio Manasse in the early 1900s), prime cuts of steak and a decadent dessert selection.

The menu features appetizers such as a lobster bisque or jumbo shrimp cocktail. The entrees, which include classic steak dishes like filet mignon and New York strip, includes other delicacies such as chateaubriand, veal T-bone and Colorado rack of lamb. All sides are done a la carte and consist of such dishes as goose fat potatoes and black truffle cream spinach. A specialty of the restaurant is the Strip House Chocolate Cake, which has 24 layers of chocolate.

Mark's American Cuisine

Mark's American Cuisine is located in a renovated 1920s church and has been voted the No. 1 restaurant in Houston by Zagat in its "Best Restaurants of the World 2009." This restaurant invokes America's "melting pot" theme by featuring food from all across the country.

The restaurant features four different menus. There is a seasonal menu, which changes twice per year and features the best "in-season" ingredients. There is also a Recommended Menu, which features the chef's personal choices and is changed twice per day. Good examples of what one might find on a menu at Mark's are smoked salmon, foie gras, oysters, corn chowder, salmon, Kurobuta pork, duck and beef tenderloin.
