Myrtle
beach is one of South Carolina's biggest tourist destinations. Its sandy shores and rollicking nightlife attract more than 14 million visitors each year. Other attractions include Myrtle Beach State Park, Myrtle Beach Speedway, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede (where visitors can enjoy an action-packed, stunt-filled live show while eating dinner), minigolf at Mount Atlanticus (which is situated right behind the Pavilion), the Carolina Opry, Ripley's Aquarium and Barefoot Landing, a major tourist center featuring more than 100 shops and home to the Alabama Theater and House of Blues. Given its destination as a tourist haven, Myrtle Beach also has plenty of restaurants--some better than others. These are the best-rated Myrtle Beach restaurants, according to Forbes Travel Guide.

Those seeking a unique dining atmosphere need look no further than the Collectors Café and Gallery, a restaurant and café that doubles as a gallery, featuring the works of some 40 local artists on its walls. The kitchen specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. Choice menu items include hot Cajun spice shrimp served with penne pasta and zucchini, grilled fillet of beef tenderloin, herb roasted New Zealand rack of lamb and grilled salmon filet.

Chestnut Hill Restaurant
Chestnut Hill Restaurant specializes in American cuisine. Start your meal with a Caesar salad with shrimp, carrot salad or pasta salad before moving on to one of Chestnut Hill's seafood specialties, such as seafood fettuccini, seafood casserole, shrimp Creole, fresh flounder dinner and oyster dinner. The restaurant also offers regional specialties, such as southern fried chicken and breakfast items like eggs benedict. The Chestnut Hill Restaurant also features an extensive wine menu. Sea Captain's House
In addition to its starred rating on the Forbes Travel Guide, the Sea Captain's House has been awarded "Best of the Beach" by readers of the Sun News and "Best Seafood Restaurant" by Southern Living Magazine. Situated in a historic building right on the beach, the Sea Captain's House specializes in seafood and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Top menu items include New England clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, the captain's seafood platter (which comes with shrimp, scallops, flounder and oysters served broiled or fried with a side of tartar or cocktail sauce), deep sea scallops, fillet of flounder, fried oysters, shrimp platter, country ham sandwich, filet mignon and chicken stir fry.
