The Best Indoor Water Park in Michigan

Location and Hours

Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark is located in Boyne Mountain, northwest of Gaylord in the upper portion of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. It is 255 miles and a four-hour drive from Detroit. Situated adjacent to the Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa (same address), the water park is open from 9:00 a.m. until 10 p.m., usually seven days a week.

Features

Avalanche Bay is packed with attractions for all ages. Younger children will enjoy the waterfall play structure, shallow kids' pool and the river float, while older children and adults will enjoy the challenges of wet-wall climbing, rip-zone surfing, the downhill mat racer, the cannon tube slide, racer slide and super tube slide.

Extras

Avalanche Bay also offers a full-serve snack bar with sandwiches, snack and drinks as well as full dining in a pub atmosphere at the Apres Ski Pub. There is a full-sized arcade in the water park, with over 100 games as well as ticket redemption games and prizes. Adults will appreciate taking a break in the Glacier Hot Springs, two hot tubs that are part of Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark.
