The history of casinos in Indiana began in 1988 when residents voted to remove a gambling ban. Riverboat casinos were authorized in 1993 followed by on-land casinos in 2002 when the riverboats were allowed to stay dockside. The first land based casino opened in 2003. There are casinos, both riverboat and land based, all throughout Indiana. They come in all sizes and with different amenities and extras.

Casino Aztar is located at Riverfront Park on the Ohio River. The facility includes a 2,700 passenger riverboat casino and a 250 room hotel. The casino has more than 1,00 slots, a poker room with Texas Hold'em, 7-Card Stud and Omaha and a table games room with Blackjack, Roulette, 21 + 3, Spanish 21, Craps, Bonus Let It Ride and Three Card Poker.
