Several cities in the
United States have a riverwalk, which is usually a large park on the river with shops, restaurants and boat tours.
San Antonio,
New Orleans and
Fort Lauderdale are all major tourist destinations that offer a riverwalk experience to its visitors. Some of the hotels on such riverwalks are among the best in the country and beyond.
Omni La Mansion Del Rio, San Antonio
Omni La Mansion Del Rio is located on San Antonio's Riverwalk and is part of the international luxury hotel chain. It is also within walking distance of the historic Alamo. Omni La Mansion Del Rio amenities include an on-site restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, spa, a fitness center, business center and concierge services. Rooms offer features such as flat-screen televisions and marble bathrooms, and are decorated in Spanish colonial style. The hotel is 100 percent non-smoking. As of July 2009, room rates started at about $135 per night.

Hilton New Orleans Riverside
Hilton New Orleans Riverside is next door to the city's Riverwalk Marketplace. It is a high-rise luxury hotel offering a number of room and suite options to its guests. On-site amenities include a 90,000-square-foot fitness center, seafood restaurant, bar and lounge, two gift shops and two outdoor swimming pools. Rooms offer features such as oversized lounge chairs, flat-screen televisions and signature Hilton bedding and toiletries. As of July 2009, room rates ranged from about $80 to $200 per night, with suites costing about $675 to $750 per night.
