The Best Hotels in Ogunquit, Maine

Ogunquit, which means "beautiful place by the sea," is one of Maine's top resort villages. A trolley car takes visitors throughout the village to shops, galleries, museums, boutiques and restaurants. For those who want to spend time outside, there are beaches, pleasure cruises and deep-sea fishing. Hotels put guests right near everything the village has to offer.
The Cliff House Resort & Spa

This hotel has been open and family-run since 1872, except during World War II, when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers commandeered it to watch for Nazi submarines. It sits on Bald Head Cliff in Southern Maine, and is open from April to November. The hotel has 194 rooms in four buildings, featuring views of the coast and ocean, hair dryers, coffee makers, cable television and Internet access (for a fee).
