Newport is a small town on the Oregon Coast that offers a number of relaxation and recreation opportunities for its visitors. The town's major industries are tourism, wood products, and fishing, and Newport has more than 80 restaurants. Embarcadero resort Hotel & Marina is a luxury independent property located on Yaquina Bay. There is an on-site restaurant open seasonally that serves three meals a day while offering views of the bridge and marina. Each guest room has a private balcony, and the hotel itself has a private dock for crabbing and fishing. Embarcadero Resort Hotel & Marina amenities include an indoor swimming pool, hot tubs, saunas, and two on-site stores. As of July 2009, room rates started at about $130 per night. The Sylvia Beach Hotel
The Sylvia beach Hotel is an independent hotel that opened to serve visitors to Newport in the 1980s. It offers a number of unique features such as an on-site library. The library offers more than books; guests can also use board games. There is also a nightly hot spiced wine service, and coffee and tea available in the library throughout the day. The Sylvia Beach Hotel also offers an on-site restaurant which serves dinner each night and provides oceanfront views. As of July 2009, room rates ranged from $70 to $205 per night.
