Las Vegas is often thought of as a place for adults because of the city's reputation as a gambling mecca. However, there are hotels in Vegas that are great for families and kids in general. These places have minimized the importance of an on-site casino, focusing more on providing attractions made for young children and teenagers. Below is a list of some of the best hotels in Las Vegas that are suited for kids.
The Excalibur Hotel and Casino
The Excalibur Hotel and Casino features the Court Jester's Stage, which includes puppetry, juggling, and music throughout the day. Two swimming pools provide a place for fun in the water for kids.
Although there is a casino for adults, the first floor hosts the Fantasy Faire Midway, which is devoted to kids. Here, kids will be entertained by a mock jousting tournament, as well as the Tournament of Kings Dinner Show.

New York New York
The New York New York Hotel is a series of 12 connected hotel towers, each a replica of a New York City landmark. You can stay in the "Empire State Building," or "the Chrysler Building," for example. Kids will enjoy the Manhattan Express roller coaster, which reaches speeds of 67 miles per hour.
If you want to go sightseeing, you can take your picture next to replicas of famous New York landmarks, like the Statue of Liberty. You can even walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa
The Green Valley Ranch offers a full arcade for kids, a large pool, movie theaters, and a full-size shopping mall with stores like Whole Foods and the Cheesecake Factory. Your kids can also enjoy seeing the sites on a trolley ride. The District Trolley Company offers rides Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino
The "cool factor" at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is the shark reef aquarium. Walk through an aquarium (yes with water flowing over your head) while your kids stare in awe at over 2,000 different kinds of marine animals that live in the aquarium.
You can even dive in and swim with the sharks with Mandalay's "dive with the sharks" program.
When you're done, sprawl out on the Mandalay beach, which boasts over 2,700 tons of real sand, while you watch your kids splash around in a wave pool, a "lazy river," and three swimming pools.

Orleans Hotel and Casino
Although the Orleans Hotel and Casino obviously offers a casino for adults, there's plenty for the kids to do too. Let your kids hang out in "Kid's Tyme," a fully staffed center that caters to kids ages 3 to 12. While they are there, you can spend some adult time alone. "Kid's Tyme" features a multi-level jungle gym, Playstation 2 and Nintendo Wii gaming systems, a coin-free arcade room, an arts and crafts play station, and a snack bar if the kids get hungry. Prices vary for "Kid's Tyme" from $6 to $7 per hour depending on the day.
If that's not enough, take your kids to a movie at the hotel's 18-screen movie theater. Or, go bowling at the hotel's 70-lane bowling alley.
