The Best Hotels in Coronado
Across the bay from Downtown
San Diego is the island city of Coronado. This city is a small upscale
beach community which hosts scores of tourists every year. All of these visitors come to relax on one of the most pristine
beaches in San Diego County. There are several hotels on the island which provide various levels of accommodations. There are three hotels, however, that stand out above the rest.
Hotel Del Coronado
The Hotel Del Coronado is perhaps the most famous hotel in San Diego County. This hotel was opened in 1888 and has been often referred to as one of the US' most beautiful beach resorts. This hotel has been featured in several films, most notably "Some Like it Hot."
Located right on the beach, the Hotel Del provides its guest with unparalleled views of the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. All rooms come equipped with the Del's signature line of bath products, mini bar, robes, high-speed Internet access, in-room safe, daily newspaper delivery and turndown service upon request. There are also business center and fax services, transportation services, child care services, and laundry and dry cleaning. The hotel also has several dining options, a full spa, salon and a shopping area in the basement.

Lowes Coronado Bay Resort
The Lowes Coronado Bay juts out from a peninsula in San Diego and provides guests with full resort amenities. The hotel is right across from the Silver Strand State Beach, giving guests direct access to the Pacific Ocean.
The hotel has 439 rooms all designed to invoke the relaxing feel of the beach. All rooms come equipped with beds with pillow top mattresses, 300 thread count linens, robes, flat screen TV's, CD players and coffee maker. There is an oversized desk, high-speed Internet, two phone lines and three data port ready phones for the business traveler.
The resort also offers a full spa, three lighted tennis courts, three pools, 80-slip private marina, five different bars and 24 -our room service. Additionally, the resort has over 25,000 square feet of meeting space for convention guests.

Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa
The Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa is located on the other side of the island from the Hotel Del Coronado and affords its guests with views of the San Diego skyline over the bay.
The resort's 300 guest rooms all feature luxurious bedding with down comforters, duvets and cotton linens. Also included are wireless Internet access (for a fee), in room movies, video games, balconies and a small sitting area.
The hotel has a full spa for guests to enjoy while they are there. Also at the resort is a full business center, babysitting services, currency exchange, local restaurant dinner delivery, 24-hour room service and two on-site restaurants.
