Green Philosophy
At the Element, all of the kitchen appliances available in the full-size kitchens and kitchenette are Energy-Star rated. Only glassware and silverware are used, as opposed to more throwaway options like plastic. Recycling bins are available throughout the hotel. Much of the hotel's construction, including its very design and decor, takes advantage of recycled and reusable material. Floors are covered by 100% recycled carpets, and the same is true for the carpet cushion. Paint used in the hotel is low in volatile organic compounds, thereby preserving high indoor air quality. The base on which every framed work of art in the hotel is mounted is made from recycled tires.
