Best Honeymoon Destinations in May

According to the Greeting Card Association, May and June are top months for weddings and honeymoons, with nearly 99 percent of newlyweds taking some sort of honeymoon then. Some couples enjoy the mild late spring weather for their honeymoon, but others prefer the climate for their special time to be warm and balmy. While many couples take trips to the Caribbean, the Bahamas or Jamaica, the Continental U.S. and Canada also have many locations that are perfect for honeymooners.

Rent bicycles to ride on the nearly 3-mile-long boardwalk, or skate along the sidewalks and enjoy the ocean breezes. Rent the honeymoon suite and dine on room service for a special evening. Walk on the sandy beach and view the waters of Lake Huron, or take a romantic stroll on the world's longest front porch. Autos are not allowed on the island, and the boat trip to the hotel is part of the adventure. Room rates at the Grand Hotel begin at $235 and extend up to $395 for the exclusive "Named Rooms."
