Located mere blocks away from the excitement of Central Park and the world-class shopping of 5th Avenue,
New York City's Bentley Hotel is a definite winner. Aside from a great location, this hotel offers superior amenities. Each beautifully appointed room features large-screen LCD televisions, minibars and comfortable beds covered in lavish Frette linens. Large glass and marble bathrooms and an exquisite rooftop restaurant add to The Bentley's charm.
Wows and Woes
No need to be flustered by sudden unexpected downpours, because this hotel provides umbrellas in each room; such a nice touch. Another rare find in most hotels, this property provides iPod docking stations in each room for the comfort and listening pleasure of hotel guests.
Unlike so many other hotels, The Bentley does not provide complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. Guests must pay to use the hotel's Internet service. Parking is another problem, since hotel guests must pay to park their vehicles. I was also surprised to find that this hotel does not have a fitness center.
Insider Tips
Due to surrounding buildings, only the top half of the hotel offers truly unobstructed views of the city. Try to get a room in the top half of the building to secure an impeccable view.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
I will never forget relaxing in my room while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Upper East Side and the East River. Adding even more magic to the occasion was the fact that I was able to enjoy the sights while listening to my own iPod music collection on the in-room docking station.
Bottom Line
You cannot go wrong with The Bentley. This place is what New York City is all about.
