Disney Vacation Club
A Disney Vacation Club affiliate holds a bit of real estate that is used for vacationing at Disney World, as well as
resorts worldwide. An affiliate also receives discounts on Disney theme park passes and
resort golf, recreation, dining and merchandise. There are currently more than 100,000 members enrolled in this program. The Disney Vacation Club is owned by Disney Vacation Development, Inc., which is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Here are the essentials of the program.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderate
Step 1
Educate yourself on the details, benefits and costs of becoming a Disney Vacation Club affiliate. You can do this by visiting the Disney Vacation Club website or ordering a free Disney Vacation Club DVD. See the Resources section for links.
Step 2
Once you have decided to pursue the possibility of becoming a Disney Vacation Club affiliate, you will need to sign up to attend a presentation of the Disney Vacation Club. There are three ways in which you can attend this presentation: at the Walt Disney World or Disneyland resorts, by visiting Disney's Doorway to Dreams in the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, or online with a sales representative. Disney Vacation Club tours can be arranged by visiting the Disney Vacation Club website.
Step 3
Know that when you attend a Disney Vacation Club presentation, a sales representative will provide you with information about purchasing vacation real estate and answering any questions. If you are attending the presentation at a Disney resort or at Disney's Doorway to Dreams, your representative will provide you with a tour of a vacation home model.
Step 4
Keep in mind that should you choose to become a Disney Vacation Club affiliate, your representative will walk you through the process of filling out necessary paperwork and applying for financing. According to the Disney Vacation Club website, the cost of becoming an affiliate is about $17,000.
