Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art

The Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art started in 1999 to present South Carolina's distinct culture to tourists. Visitors flock to Bookgreen Gardens and the Carriage House at Litchfield Plantation each fall to enjoy live music performed by regional artists. The festival includes jazz and chamber music performances and a puppet theater to entertain the kids. The Pawleys Island Wine Gala unveils vintages from 60 area wineries as part of a fundraiser for the next year's festival.

NASCAR SpeedPark--Myrtle Beach

NASCAR SpeedPark--Myrtle Beach replicates the NASCAR experience for kids and adults. Winyah Bay Heritage Festival

The Winyah Bay Heritage Festival in nearby Georgetown celebrates South Carolina's outdoor culture each January. The festival takes place at Georgetown venues like East Bay Park, Strand Theater and the Winyah Gym. Volunteers at the festival demonstrate fly tying, musket making, blacksmith work and decoy painting for interested visitors. The Winyah Bay Heritage Festival is known for attracting participants to its annual Duck Calling Championship. The Children's Art Exhibit showcases the talents of young students from Georgetown's school system.

Myrtle Waves Water Park

Litchfield Beach visitors can spend entire weekends at the Myrtle Waves Water Park in Myrtle Beach. The park offers myriad water slides including the Turbo Twister, a water ride that starts 10 stories above the water level to create a thrill for riders. The LayZee River is a relaxed raft ride that winds past Myrtle Waves Water Park's major attractions. The park's Saturation Station features a 700-gallon water burst as well as diving platforms, water guns and slides for the entire family.
