If you want to be in the heart of Virginia beach, the Virginia Beach resort and Villa is the place to be. The resort offers various accommodations, including efficiency rooms, kitchen amenities and two-bedroom suites, as well as an on-site restaurant and indoor swimming pool. However, don't expect to be dazzled. This so-called resort is more of an average hotel that happens to be in the center of all the action.
Wows and Woes

Wows: The hotel faces the beach and the boardwalk. It is within walking distance to boutiques and shopping. Rooms come complete with microwave and ironing board.

Woes: This hotel does not offer ambience. Room sizes vary, and thanks to fingerprints on pictures and fixtures, they look shabby.

Insider Tips

The Virginia Beach Boardwalk Resort and Villa is a standard hotel that happens to be located right in the heart of Virginia Beach. Guests seeking an ocean view must request it. Otherwise, you may end up looking out of the hotel and into the parking facility. In addition, the on-site restaurant does not serve breakfast. Guests who want to start out the day with a hearty plate will need to make other arrangements.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

The first time I stayed at the resort, my room was extremely small and unclean. I did not even sleep under the covers because I felt uncomfortable in the room. Several years later, I stayed at the facility again after reservations elsewhere were not upheld. The room was much better than before. Specifically, I had larger accommodations, and although the room was still slightly outdated, it was effective.

Bottom Line

Beach-goers looking to spend much of their time outdoors will enjoy the convenient location of the facility. Guests looking for some down time indoors may want to look elsewhere.
