The Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala was the first of the California Missions to be built. It is still in use today as a Catholic church. It stands at the eastern end of Mission Valley, a neighborhood in San Diego. Mission Valley is home to shopping, nightlife and a few four-star hotels.
