The Embassy Suites hotel in
Baltimore, Maryland is an exceptional value for families and business travelers. This hotel offers easy access to downtown and is within two miles of the BWI airport. All rooms are suites with a well-appointed living and dining area. Especially helpful when traveling with children, the ample bedroom is separated from the living area by a short hallway and bathroom. Rooms feature two televisions, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave.
The hotel also offers an indoor pool, hot tub, gym and business center. All of the common areas are beautiful with water features and glass elevators.
Wows and Woes
The free breakfast is delicious and freshly prepared. Available options include omelets, waffles, fruit, cereal, breakfast meats, eggs, yogurt, pastries and an assortment of beverages.
During January 2009, the hotel was being renovated in some areas. The commotion was not a welcome addition to breakfast, however the improvements to the dining area will be eye-catching.
Insider Tips
The hot tub is spacious, and the temperature is not overwhelmingly hot. A quick soak is a relaxing end to the day.
If your travel plans change and you need to stay an additional night, ask a manager about a discounted rate. Sometimes they are able to accommodate your request or offer you other perks for extending your stay.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
Even though the pool heater was broken during our stay, our children braved the frigid water since they so badly wanted to swim. The lifeguard on duty was kind enough to allow them to sit in the hot tub afterward, even though it was technically against the rules. The manager delivered a wonderful snack basket to our room to make up for the pool situation.
Bottom Line
With rates starting at $100, you will not find more convenient lodging. You are a short drive from most attractions and the rooms are large.
