Attractions & Things to Do in San Diego

San Diego offers a lot of options for both tourists and locals to enjoy. There are one-of-a-kind amusement parks to visit, animals to see in its infamous zoo, and award-winning plays to be enjoyed. Walking along the streets of San Diego, you will also have the opportunity to gather souvenirs to send that San Diego postcard to your friends and family members. Diversity is plentiful when it comes to your selection of San Diego's restaurants, whether you seek fine dining or diner fare.
San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo is located close to downtown San Diego, it is located in Balboa Park which is just north of downtown. The San Diego Zoo offers a variety of animals to see including elephants and polar bears. There is even a flamingo pond to see the pink birds in large groups. The San Diego Zoo has a special children's area where children can touch the smaller animals in a petting zoo. Touring the zoo can be done on foot or by using the bus for a fee. Tickets can be purchased for a day, or a pass can be purchased that can be used for five days to visit the zoo, Wild Animal Park, and SeaWorld San Diego.

Legoland

When you visit San Diego, you don't have to drive up to Disney Land to enjoy a theme park. Visit Legoland instead. The theme is based on legos, but it is a true amusement park. There are rides for young children and rides for older daredevils including several roller coasters. You can play games of chance while at Legoland and participate in interactive games that allow you to enter virtual worlds and test your imagination. Don't be intimidated by the nine foot dinosaur at the gate, it's made of legos of course! Legoland is located just half an hour north of downtown San Diego.

La Jolla

La Jolla can be found just 15 minutes outside of downtown San Diego. La Jolla offers a beach to relax on, or to watch the animals swim and play. La Jolla's beach is home to animals such as pelicans and seals. There is also a boardwalk area for children and adults alike to stroll along and compete in games of both chance and skill. The Museum of Contemporary Art offers plenty of artwork for the artistic tourist or just one that loves works of beauty. In the evenings for entertainment, there are plenty or restaurants or you can enjoy a show at the La Jolla Playhouse.
