Eastern
New York State, from just north of New York City to the Canadian Border, is one of the most historic parts of the country. The area's attractions date as far back as the French and Indian War. It has been home to the rich and famous, like the Roosevelts. But it also has great skiing and summer sports to entertain those who do not live within its beautiful expanse.
Hyde Park
Hyde Park was the home of Franklin and Eleanore Roosevelt. It is now a National Historic Site managed by the National Park Service. The site is open year long, but tours are limited from January through March. The tour includes Springwood, the Roosevelt's mansion, the Roosevelt Presidential Library and Tap Cottage (where Roosevelt would go to get away from the crowds at the big house).
