Arizona offers world-class
resorts and spas to refresh and relax any guest. The weather is reliably warm throughout the year, though desert nights can be quite chilly. Destination spas offer a wide variety of activities from which to choose during your stay. And day spas at most resorts offer a menu of options for body and skin treatments.
Geography
Scottsdale, Tucson and Phoenix offer the majority of spas in the state. Most of these locations also offer top-notch golf as part of the resort amenities.
Time Frame
Summer months in Arizona are hot--almost impossibly so. As a result, the spas and resorts in the state typically offer very significant discounts during this time. Winter is typically considered high season.
Considerations
Decide if you want a full-service resort spa experience, such as the Canyon Ranch, where you stay for several days or a full week or if you prefer a day spa, such as the Arizona Biltmore, which can also provide resort amenities for golfers who prefer to tee off rather than get a spa treatment.
Features
Many Arizona spas feature treatments that use the native plants and resources of the state. For example, the Westward Look Resort in Tucson includes Sonoran plants and native muds in its treatments.
Warning
When comparing prices, be sure to factor in the fact that destination spa packages will include meals. Resort spa packages are typically a bundling of services and do not offer a meal.
