Anaheim Hotel Review

There are many hotels in Anaheim, ranging from budget to luxury, and most of them are within walking distance to the Disney parks. The Anaheim Hilton is conveniently near both of the Disney parks as well as the convention center with over 1,500 rooms and suites. The pool is a nice size and includes four jacuzzis as well. In addition, there is plenty of meeting space and a very large health club for the discerning traveler.
Wows and Woes

Location is the key here. The 25,000 square foot health club and spa, as well as the Starbucks Marketplace, are exceptional highlights. As an added benefit the entire hotel is completely non-smoking.

This property accommodates many meetings and conventions due to its size and proximity to the convention center. Because of this it may appear not as warm and welcoming for a family trip to Disney. If you are using Hilton points, fine. If the purpose is to get the family in the Disney mood, there are more quaint themed hotels to choose from in Anaheim.

Insider Tips

Ask for a room facing the Disney parks and you will get a great view of the evening's fireworks coming from Disneyland. If you plan on making a trip to one or both of the parks you can buy tickets in advance right in the lobby at the Disney desk and avoid the long lines.

Fireworks over Anaheim
Fireworks over Anaheim

I stayed at this property while attending a meeting. On the Friday night I really wanted to go out to Downtown Disney, but was exhausted from the day's activities. I had all but acquiesced to my tiredness when I heard the familiar thundering boom and rushed to my window in time to be taken back to my childhood of Disney fireworks. I was able to go to sleep feeling part of it all again.

Bottom Line

Great amenities, but not exactly a hotel with a family feel considering it is just outside of Disneyland. This property is more suited to those on business trips to Anaheim.
