Amsterdam Court Hotel NYC Review

Amsterdam Court Hotel
Amsterdam Court Hotel
The Amsterdam Court Hotel in New York City is a 110-room hotel with European charm. It is located in the heart of Midtown, right around the corner from Rockefeller Center. The amenities are basic, with a TV, dial-up Internet and hairdryers in each room. A fridge can be added for an extra $20 a night. The location is the best part of this hotel, where you can step outside and be at Times Square in a couple of minutes.
Wows and Woes

The best thing about this hotel is the plush, down comforters in the room which make a cold New York night extra tolerable. The staff is quite easygoing and always have a sincere smile and hello when they see you.
Rooms start at $200 a night with very basic amenities. There is no room service or even a simple bar or cafe to grab a late-night bite.

Insider Tips

The rooms facing the street may have a nice view but they are also quite loud, making the view not worth it.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

I try to do New York "on the cheap," flying in for three days and two nights and cramming all my meetings into this short stay. Every bar you hit for a drink costs $20 and every coffee you have costs $5 with tip. Then I discovered this hotel serves non-stop, free espresso to me and my guests. I saved an easy $200 in schmooze money staying at The Amsterdam Court.

Bottom Line

The Amsterdam Court Hotel has a superb location in the heart of the city and is clean and cozy, so it's worth a stay.
