Now called Planet Hollywood
resort and Casino, some variation of The Aladdin has been a fixture on
Las Vegas' Strip since the original opened in 1966. In 1998, the site was imploded and a new Aladdin constructed. With financial problems from the start, the property was sold in 2003 and renamed Planet Hollywood in 2007.
Size
The hotel rises 52 stories above The Strip. There are 2,600 rooms and about 100,000 square feet of gaming space.
Sports Book
The Playing Field Race and Sports Book part of the casino offers bettors 33 plasma screens and two jumbo sets.
Features
Each of the hotel rooms is designed around various movies, with some rooms actually having props used in feature films. Two swimming pools overlook the north and south Strip. VIP cabanas are available to rent.
Dining
Food runs the gamut from Starbucks to Trader Vic's. In the resort's Miracle Mile shopping area are, among others, the restaurants Oyster Bay Seafood & Wine and Cheeseburger at the Oasis.
Nightlife
Clubbing action can be found at Krave, Prive and the Heart Bar.
Famous Ties
The original Aladdin was the site of Elvis and Priscilla Presley's wedding in 1967.
