Myrtle Beach, SC offers a number of affordable restaurants.
Myrtle
beach, incorporated in 1938, has become a popular vacation destination for East Coast travelers. Vacationers can chose from wide sandy
beaches, shopping, golf and entertainment of all kinds. Lodging options range from
hotel rooms and
resorts to condos and waterfront homes. Dining options also range from home cooking to gourmet; seafood is usually the star. For travelers looking to eat on a budget, there is a restaurant for every meal.
Woodhaven Pancake House
Open year-round from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m., this restaurant specializes in breakfast faire and sandwiches. The extensive breakfast menu features 61 omelets and the note that they will make any additional combination you desire if they have the ingredients. Southern specialties such as grits and biscuits and gravy are offered. A variety of pancakes and waffles are also available. This is a modest restaurant with simple décor and quick, friendly service offering a breakfast at a budget price.

Hoskins Restaurant
Hoskins Restaurant has been a favorite of Myrtle Beach locals for generations. It offers a nondescript interior featuring 25 booths and tables waited on by friendly, knowledgeable staff. Large portions of calabash-style fried seafood and low-country specialties are served at reasonable prices. Daily specials include barbecue pulled pork plates and fried trout. Other lunch favorites include choice of shrimp, scallops or oyster sandwich with fries and coleslaw. Homemade desserts are often available. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday they are open 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. Hoskins closes in November and reopens in February.

Steven's Oyster Roast
Another restaurant locals have been eating at for decades, Steven's serves fresh calabash-style seafood and steaks at moderate prices. What the restaurant lacks in décor, they make up for in value. Most dinners include hush puppies, choice of baked potato or fries and coleslaw or salad. The chowder and sea-crab soup are excellent. Seafood is available fried or broiled. The specialty of the house, the oyster roast, is only available during season. Steven's is closed the week of July 4th and from Thanksgiving to January 2nd. The operating hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
