Anaheim, California, is home to one of the most popular tourist attractions on the planet for children: Disneyland. However, Disneyland isn't the only thing this Orange County city has to offer for visitors. There are a lot of affordable and economical recreational activities for children and their families in this city located less than an hour away from
Los Angeles.
Disneyland
Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure theme parks, both located in Anaheim, can be affordable vacation options if you know when to travel. If you go any time of the year other than between June and Labor Day, tickets for entry will be significantly cheaper. Also, during that time frame, there are a lot of discounted tickets available for purchase through many online vendors.
Orange County Coast
Only a brief drive from Anaheim, visitors will find the magnificent and beautiful Orange County coast, which is home to several popular beaches including Laguna beach and Huntington Beach. Children can play in the sand, swim, run around and experience all the joy that a beach can offer--and nothing is more affordable than a day at the beach. There are surfing options as well.
Aquarium of the Pacific
There are over 12,500 different sea creatures on display at the Aquarium of the Pacific, which is a highly affordable Anaheim vacation destination that children love--especially if they can touch sharks themselves. From examining sea otters to feeding exotic birds, this is a great vacation spot for the whole family.
