Activities at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, Nevada
The Stratosphere
Las Vegas Hotel and Casino's signature attraction is its observation tower, which is the tallest in the
United States and provides a spectacular view of the strip. Inside the tower is a revolving restaurant, observation decks and thrill rides. The Stratosphere is located at 2000 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Thrills
The Big Shot propels its passengers more than 1,000 feet above the Strip. The X-Screen is a colossal teeter-totter that takes passengers some 27 feet beyond the edge of the tower. The Insanity Ride spins riders at a force of 3 Gs, 64 feet over the tower's edge. For low-key thrills, the observation deck provides a view of the Strip from the tower.
Dining
If dining is your activity of choice, the Stratosphere provides a variety of options, beginning with the Top of the World gourmet restaurant in the tower, some 800 feet above the ground. The Top of the World revolves, giving a 360-degree panoramic view. A private dining room is available at the Top of the World. Other dining options include the Lucky's Café coffee shop, Roxy's '50s-style diner, the Courtyard Buffet and Fellini's Ristorante for Italian cuisine.
Pool
Enjoy the Nevada sunshine at the Stratosphere's pool on the eighth floor. There are cabanas, along with water volleyball and "beer pong." Guests can dine poolside with a menu featuring sandwiches, gourmet salads, beverages and cocktails.
Casino
Stratosphere's main course is its 80,000-square-foot casino, with more than 50 table games (such as blackjack, craps and roulette) and over 1,200 video-poker games and slot machines. There is a poker room and a race and sports book.
Nightlife
For nightlife there are a variety of bars and lounges to choose from. The Big Shot Bar is near the Observation Deck and thrill rides. Images Lounge is open nightly on the casino floor. The C Bar is in the center of the casino and is open 24/7. The most memorable nightlife destination at the Stratosphere is the romance at the Top of the World on the 107th floor.
Entertainment
The Stratosphere's 2009 shows include the "American Superstars" impersonators, bringing their interpretations of Elvis, Christina Aguilera, Tim McGraw and Rod Stewart. Another show is "Bite," a topless revue in vampire theme with audience participation.
