Activities for Kids in Boston
Boston is a great historic city for anyone to visit, but the city also has a ton of fun things to do for young kids. When you visit Boston, you can see attractions such as the Freedom Trail and the Samuel Adams brewery, but these are some great breaks for the kids that the adults will enjoy also. Of course, there are more attractions than these for kids, but these are a few good places to start.
Friutlands Museum
The Fruitlands Museum has art to see, but the best activity for the kids is the outdoor Woodlands trails. There are 3.2 miles of well-marked trails. You can pick up a trail pack at the wayside that offers activities for the hike. There's a view of the Nashua River valley and wildlife to see. You can also see the historic Willard farm site. There's a restaurant if the kids get hungry, and the museum offers discounts for kids and students.

New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium has all the animals kids love, including turtles, seals, penguins and jellyfish. There also is an IMAX theater that has several different shows. The aquarium also offers whale-watching tours, although they require separate tickets and may not be suitable for younger children. There is a family explorer program available, with some dates that are designed for toddlers.

Boston Museum of Science
In the main museum, there are natural animal habitats, live chicken hatchings and a butterfly garden. There is a children's discovery center for kids 5 and younger. It has two floors, with tunnels, puzzles, puppets and more. There's a theater of electricity that shows a real--but safe--close-up look at lightening twice a day. There also is a planetarium and several other theaters.

TOMB
Labeled as Boston's most interactive entertainment experience, TOMB is an interactive adventure that has kids participate in a search of a pharaoh's tomb for a missing professor. Kids are presented with physical and mental challenges. This experience may be scary for toddlers.
