Nicaragua is located in
Central America and is the largest country in that region. In order to travel outside the country, a citizen of Nicaragua will need a passport. In order to receive one, the citizen or permanent resident will need to appear at a Nicaraguan consulate with the needed documentation.

Step 1
Fill out an application for a passport. Either pick it up in person at the nearest consulate office or print it out from online (link is in References). The application will include your name, state of origin, address, date and place of birth.
Step 2
Bring documentation that you are a citizen or permanent resident of Nicaragua. Show a birth certificate as proof of citizenship or a permanent resident card.
Step 3
Take four photos. These need to be color headshots. The size of each needs to be 2-by-2 in inches. Bring two forms of government-issued identification.
Step 4
Have the fee for the application. This will go with the application and other documentation. The fee will be no less than $55.
Step 5
Submit the application with all the required documentation. You may want to call ahead before appearing in person to make sure you have all the required documentation.
