iExplore Peruvian Amazon Extension

During December and January, iExplore operates a five-day Amazon River excursion that originates in Peru with a 25-mile sail down the Amazon River.

Those who don't fear heights can observe birds in their natural environment from a 500-meter suspended bridge. One day of the tour is dedicated to a visit to Monkey Island, a protected sanctuary with more than five species of tropical monkeys.

Shoppers and tourists will enjoy purchasing native Indian crafts and a local sugar cane rum factory tour. Dinner and evening activities like live music are coordinated nightly. Luxury lodge accommodations and air-conditioned boats are among the features for those who prefer a lighter approach to "roughing it" in nature.
