Review of Dhow Palace Hotel in Dubai

The Dhow Palace Hotel is located in Bur Dubai the business district. Its building modeled after a Dhow (Arabian boat) offers 282 rooms. The hotel has a plush, comfortable lobby for meeting with friends and a pool on its rooftop. The fitness center has up-to-date equipment, and the hotel offers messages through its spa. The hotel is perfect for business travelers because it has more than 15 meeting rooms, a ballroom, six restaurants and a bar.
Wows and Woes

The lobby is one of a kind, and has a Dhow encasing the elevators. The wood floors made the room seem sparkling clean instead of having normal hotel carpeting.
There was a lot of construction surrounding the hotel. Three of the restaurants were closed. The room did not have any windows and was claustrophobic.

Insider Tips

When hiring a taxi, do not use the drivers from the hotel. Have them call you a taxi. They know where they are going, while the hotel driver did not. Taxi fares are less expensive too.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

I went into the Queens Quay Bar late. After having several cocktails, I fell asleep and the bar was closing. The bartender woke me up and said "Madam, you must be tired. You snore loud." I was embarrassed and thought he was rude.

Bottom Line

The Dhow Palace's best rooms are budget friendly. There are other reasonably priced hotels in Dubai. I would recommend a different hotel.
