The Eureka Hotel in Dubai is located in the business district and near the Dubai airport. The hotel has seven stories with 99 rooms, a restaurant, fitness center and a rooftop pool. Eureka has a laundry and dry cleaning service and offers WiFi and satellite TV. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to shopping, cafes and local businesses.
Wows and Woes
The hotel allows travelers to check in early if they arrive in the early AM hours without charging an additional day. The staff is friendly and helpful in pointing out nearby entertainment.
The rooms and the bathrooms are small. The furniture is cheap even for a budget hotel and the pool on the rooftop is tiny.
Insider Tips
Request an upper floor to avoid the noise. If you are on the lower floors of the hotel you will hear music from the bar below that can be aggravating and may interfere with your sleep.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
I called down to the desk and told them there was something wrong and the Internet was not working. They sent a man up to my room who noticed that my WiFi button on my computer was switched off making me look foolish. He stood there after fixing it, until I finally figured out he was waiting for a tip. I gave him a couple dirhams and he left.
Bottom Line
If traveling through Dubai and need sleep for the night, stay at Eureka. If staying longer, stay elsewhere. There are nicer, more updated hotels in Dubai for the same price.
