The Traders Hotel is located approximately 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport. Travel from the airport is convenient by taxi and is reasonably priced. The hotel is very comfortable and has all the amenities found in a far more expensive hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Dubai.
Wows and Woes
The concierge service in the hotel is exceptional. They were very helpful when we wanted to schedule the desert safari and the Dubai Creek dinner cruise. They were very responsive to all of our needs and even assisted us with hiring a private driver to show us all the sights that Dubai is famous for.
Traffic in Dubai is extremely heavy, so allow plenty of time to get where you are going. Although the hotel is within walking distance of shopping and dining, it is at least 30 minutes from the heart of Dubai.
Insider Tips
Alcohol is legal in Dubai, but very expensive. Before leaving the airport for your hotel, pay a visit to the duty-free shops. The inventory of alcohol is very extensive and very affordable. There is a limit to what you can carry into the country, so check with an employee of the shop before going overboard.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
Walking into the newly opened Mall of the Emirates and watching visitors from all over the world engaged in a snowball fight at Ski Dubai, a rare indoor ski slope.
Bottom Line
The Traders Hotel is reasonably priced by Dubai standards and has all the luxuries and amenities of a far more expensive five-star hotel.
