Agra is a city located in Uttar Pradesh State, India. The city was founded by a man named Badal Singh in 1475. Agra is the home of the legendary Taj Mahal building and is known for its vibrant architecture and artifacts. Agra is a tourist city that has over 1.4 million residents. Native Indians are the majority race with Hindi, Urdu, and English commonly spoken.
Climate
The climate in Agra is tropical and extreme. There are three distinct seasons--winter, summer and monsoon season.
Summer
Summers in Agra are hot and dry. April to July is the city's hottest time, with temperatures over 100 F. Summers begin in May and run to September.
Winter
The winters begin in October and last until March and are mild in temperature. The average temperature during the winter is 75 F. Nights are often chilly with temperatures around 50 F.
Monsoon Season
Monsoons are normal in Agra with heavy rains and high humidity. The season lasts from June to August.
Autumn and Spring
Autumn and spring seasons are not distinct in Agra. The extreme desert climate does not cool off easily.
