The beautiful Hotel Finisterra
Located in Cabo San Lucas,
Mexico, the Hotel Finisterra is a perfect blend of modern amenities and Mexican culture. The 283 room-property is divided into two sections, and has breathtaking views of the ocean, marina or bay from the patio or terrace. The grounds feature a striking pool, swim-up bar and private
beach. It is a short casual walk to the center of town and marina.
Wows and Woes
Wows: The location of the Finisterra is great. Guests are centrally located enough to be able to walk to town, yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet and serenity that Cabo has to offer. If walking is not your cup of tea, the hotel can arrange an inexpensive shuttle. The service is phenomenal at the hotel, and several staff members speak English.
Woes: This hotel is very kid-friendly. If you are on your honeymoon or need total seclusion, this may not be the place for you.
Insider Tips
Don't plan on doing much entertaining in your room after 9 p.m. This hotel (and many others in Cabo) have a very strict "no visitors" policy after 9 p.m.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
I actually loved the walk from the hotel into the town. It was a nice separation from the crazy, all-night partying scene in downtown Cabo and gave me a chance to see an authentic part of Mexico firsthand.
Bottom Line
If you are looking for a family-friendly hotel on the outskirts of town, this is it. If you want to be part of Cabo nightlife, go elsewhere.
