Club Med Ixtapa Information

Club Med Ixtapa has 298 rooms and suites with a flat-screen TV and Internet access in every one. Club Rooms have connecting doors and can be made into a two-bedroom unit. The Deluxe Room actually has two bedrooms -- one for the parents and one for the kids -- and the suites run from 550 to 775 square feet with private balconies. Family suites have rooms designed just for kids.

There are several dining options available at the Club Med Ixtapa. El Encanto, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, has five lounges: the mirror room, the mask room, the interior garden, the aquarium and the planetarium. There is an outdoor dining terrace and a special corner where parents can prepare food for infants. La Luna Azul, open for dinner, is a large hut in the middle of the garden. Miramar is a grill restaurant and is open for late breakfast, daily snacks and dinner. It also has a terrace with an ocean view. La Sirena is located in Mini Club Med and is just for guests ages 2 to 11. It features well-balanced meals, fun activities and kid-appropriate entertainment. There are also three bars and lounges.

Most activities are included in the all-inclusive package. They include a circus school for children 4 years old and up, flying trapeze for both children and adults, use of the tennis courts and tennis lessons, use of the swimming pools, table tennis, wellness center, kayaking, sailing lessons, climbing, basketball, beach volleyball, crazy gold, soccer and volleyball. Deep-sea fishing and certain other activities are not included in the package.

Juniors' Club Med is included in the package and is available during school vacations. It is for children ages 11 to 18. They are divided into two age groups. It is a place for them to make friends and enjoy the club facilities. Mini Club Med is for those from 4 to 11. It has planned activities including sports and creative activities. Petit Club Med is an optional extra and is for those from 2 to under 4 years old. It includes breakfast, activities, a nap and snacks. They can return at 7:30 after dinner so the parents and have an evening out. Baby Club Med is another optional extra for those from 4 to 23 months old. There are age-appropriate activities during the day and a family dinner at 6:30.

The Wellness center and spa has individual, private treatment rooms and a duo treatment room as well. All of the rooms are air-conditioned and have a private terrace. For those who want to meditate, there is a Zen area, and for refreshments, there is an herbal tea room. All of the treatments use use natural ingredients and are designed to relax and create a sense of serenity.
