The Best Hotels in Cancun for Families
There are dozens of family friendly hotels in Cancun. For many parents, the three most important needs for vacationing with kids are: cool pools, kitchenettes and kids clubs. In Cancun, many hotels are all-inclusive, which often means kids clubs are part of the package. Whether you choose an all-inclusive hotel will depend on your vacationing tastes as well as your budget, although all-inclusive prices in Cancun are hard to beat.
Kids Clubs
Hotels that include kids clubs are ideal for families because they offered organized play for children that will wear them out and keep them entertained with or without you. Signing your child up for a kids club can gives parents an hour or two of adult time.
The Paradisus Riviera Cancun, located 20 minutes south of Cancun's national airport, features a kids club for babies. In fact, the resort has two kids clubs: one for infants up to age 4 and another for ages 5-12. The kids club is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with plenty of age-appropriate activities.
Families with more than two children might like the Blue Bay Club Cancun. It features a kids club that offers Spanish and sand castle-building lessons, and it is one of the few hotels in Cancun that allows up to three children in the same hotel room.
Kitchenettes
Hotel room kitchenettes usually include a small sink, refrigerator and a microwave. Children are often hungry and thirsty at times that do not coincide with restaurant hours, so having a place to put milk or juice or pop a bag of popcorn is appreciated. In hotels that are not all-inclusive, kitchenettes also offer a chance to save some money as many families use them to serve their brood breakfast and snacks.
Ambiance Villas Kin Ha Resort Cancun has studios with kitchenettes and one-, two- and three-bedroom villas with complete kitchens and dining areas. Royal resorts has several hotels in Cancun; each features full-sized kitchens and shares amenities with the other hotels.
Hotels with Kid-Friendly Pools
Nothing entertains a kid more than a cool pool, and Cancun is known as a place with resorts that fit the bill. Hotels feature waterfalls, slides and pools with volleyball nets where a game of water volleyball can spring up at any moment.
The pool at the Crown Paradise Cancun Resort features a water park complete with a pirate ship and eight water slides. Crown Paradise Club features four pools--one indoor pool, one ocean-view pool, one adult-only pool and one pool with water slides.
