Puerto Penasco (also known as Rocky Point) is a town in the northwestern section of the Mexican state called Sonora. The town overlooks the Gulf of California and has a strong fishing presence and tourism industry. Many people from Arizona in particular like to visit Puerto Penasco because it provides the closest
beaches. There is no shortage of fun things to do and see while in Puerto Penasco.
CET-Mar Aquarium
CET-Mar (Center for Technological Sea Studies and Aqua Culture) Aquarium is a moderately-sized aquarium that displays exhibitions regarding the Gulf of California and its varied wildlife (Sea of Cortez). If you want to get a look at native creatures from the intertidal zone, this is the place to go. There is a touch pool where visitors can feed sea turtles, squid and many others. You can get an up close look at sea lions at this fun and pleasant aquarium as well.

La Spa de Penasco (inside of the Sonoran Spa resort) is a full service spa that is a great place to go to get a spa treatment while in Puerto Penasco. This is a tranquil, relaxing spa that will relax your mind and body and also make you look and feel significantly better. Ray del Mar Pirate Cruise
The Ray del Mar Pirate Cruise is part of Rocky Point's sunset cruises. The Ray del Mar Pirate Cruise is an exciting way to have a fun time on a boat that has a pirate theme. If you want to be on the high seas in the midst of a swashbuckling adventure, then these pirate cruises are the way to go. This cruise boat is eighty feet in length and has a good sized deck from which you can catch the breathtaking sunset.

Sun 'N Fun Dive Shop
Sun 'N Fun Dive Shop is the place to go if you want to experience diving and snorkeling trips to Bird Island. Located by Old Port, this shop also sells a lot of activity gear and accessories. Other activity trips put on by Sun 'N Fun Dive Shop include parasailing and sailing. They also put on both sunset and sunset dinner cruises. The shop sells equipment for activities like snorkeling, fishing and diving.

CEDO Intercultural
CEDO Intercultural (Intercultural Center for the Study of Dirt and Oceans) is a small sized museum in Las Conchas. This museum details the natural history of Puerto Penasco and the Gulf of California. This museum promotes the education of the Sonoran Desert and California's Upper Gulf. This place is nonprofit and is both a biological field station and Natural History Resource Center. This center also focuses on the protection of the precious ecosystem.
